What is a text match cut?
A match cut joins two shots that share something in the same place on screen. In the text version that is all over Shorts, Reels and TikTok, the shots are pages: headlines, articles and book pages cut together every few frames, and the same word sits in the same spot on every one of them. The text around it changes so fast you can't read it, so the eye goes straight to the word that doesn't move.
Building one by hand means finding or writing a dozen pages that contain your word, setting each in a different typeface and lining the word up frame by frame in an editor. Here you type the word, and the pages are written and lined up for you. The text around the keyword is softly blurred so it reads as a backdrop and the keyword pops.
It works best as the first two seconds of a video, before you start talking about the topic, but it also makes a good transition between sections or a reveal of the name of a place, person or product.
Who it's for
Faceless channels
Open a story about a mystery, a person or a place with its name flashing across real-looking pages.
Educators and explainers
Introduce the concept a video is about, like compound interest or photosynthesis, before the explanation starts.
Brands and marketers
Put a product or campaign name at the center of a fast, editorial-looking hook for ads and social posts.
Video editors
Skip the frame-by-frame alignment and drop a finished match cut into CapCut, Premiere or DaVinci Resolve.
What the tool does for you
Pages written for your word
Every page reads like a real article or headline about your keyword, so the cut looks like a montage of sources, not filler text.
Lined up automatically
The keyword is measured on each page and moved to the same point on screen, so it never jumps between cuts.
A different typeface on every page
Serif, sans and display fonts alternate from page to page, which is what makes the effect feel fast.
Focus on the keyword
A soft blur falls off around the keyword and a highlighter mark sits behind it. Turn the blur off for a sharper, flatter look.
Sound included
Pick one of two camera-shutter bursts to play under the cuts, or export a silent clip and add your own audio.
Free to preview
Generate pages and try every look in the browser for free. You only spend credits when you export the MP4.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own text on the pages?
Not yet. You type the keyword and the tool writes the pages around it, each in a different typeface. If you don't like a set of pages, generate them again for free before you export.
How long is the match cut?
Anywhere from 1 to 3 seconds, with 5 to 15 pages. The default of 10 pages in 2 seconds works as a hook: long enough to register the word, short enough that viewers don't scroll away. More pages in less time makes the cut feel faster.
Is it free?
Generating pages and previewing them is free once you sign up, and so is your first export. Free videos carry a small ShortsCrafter watermark. After that, each export costs 5 credits. Any purchase removes the watermark.
What do I download?
An MP4 at 30 frames per second in the shape you picked: vertical 9:16, horizontal 16:9 or square 1:1, with one of two shutter sounds or silent. It drops straight into CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve or any other editor.
Which keywords work best?
Names and short phrases: a person, a place, an event, a product or a single big idea. One to three words fit cleanly on every page; longer phrases still work but leave less room for the pages around them.
Open every video with a match cut
ShortsCrafter writes the script, records the voiceover and makes every scene from just your idea, and it can start each video with a match cut like this one. Or scroll up and make one for a keyword of your own.
